Michael Kors Eyewear

Michael Kors glasses are all designed to accommodate prescription lenses. Also, because most Michael Kors glasses styles includes a larger lens size, most of the eyeglasses frames would be great for progressive lenses. Style are edgy, so they look more like a fashion-forward accessory than a holder for prescription lenses. Michael Kors frames are known for fusing style with function, and the Michael Kors prescription glasses line is no exception.

Michael Kors Prescription GlassesMichael Kors eyeglasses developed out of his love of style, even from his very early years, and this may have been influenced by Michael being introduced to the apparel industry through his mother's modeling career. When Michael was five years of age, he redesigned his mother's wedding dress for her second marriage and as a teenager he designed and sold clothes from his parents basement.

Michael Kors makes glasses in many different shapes, but especially square shapes and cat eye shapes and semi-rimless styles. He would drop out after less than a year and take a job at a boutique just across the street from Bergdorf Goodman on 57th St. and he sold his designs out of a small space inside the boutique where he worked. It was not long after he started working at the boutique that Dawn Mellow, fashion director at Bergdorf at the time discovered him and she asked if he would introduce his collection to Bergdorf Goodman's buyers. His collections have been there ever since.

He was born Karl Anderson Jr. on the ninth day of August in the year 1959 on Long Island, New York. His mother, Joan Hamburg was a former model and her first husband was Karl Anderson, Sr. When Karl was five years of age his mother married Bill Kors and he changed his surname to Kors. He was told by his mother that if he wanted to, he could choose a new first name for himself and he renamed himself Michael David Kors.
